Victrola sandwich emergency on 15th Ave

Written on Victrola bandwidth, btw

I was about to write a nasty post criticizing Victrola's new Whidbey Island-based owner for cutting back on the coffee shop's offerings my replacing their sandwiches with packaged stuff from a third-party provider. But then I found this:

Victrola is on my sh*t list
I went there last Friday to order caffeine before a long drive to Eugene (seriously it's a 5 hour drive). I had to wait 10 minutes for the barista to figure out that she wasn't going to make the drinks she had been staring at for so long and watched her wander off. The other barista/cashier finally noticed and started slowly making coffee. 20 minutes after I walked in the door, I had my drink. I was only 2nd in line.

Sandwiches
Hey, thanks for being so concerned about our sandwich situation. The mission of Victrola has not changed, we really believe in great coffee and food. Our pastries come from the best of local bakeries, including Essential, Hiroki, Mighty-O, Parisian Star and Irwins. Our using Domovoi Sandwiches (note: we used his wraps and salads before the sale) is not something we are ashamed of. Not only is the owner of the company a former Victrola barista he has been a long time friend to many of us. The use of Domovoi sandwiches as a stop gap measure while we were re-organizing and looking for new help only made sense. Please ask us to help you understand any business decision.
