The CHS completion percentage on land use notice reporting is about 38%. We've thrown a few bad passes. Typical Seattle quarterback performance. But we're a neighborhood blog and that won't do. These two items should put us back in the game.
The first one isn't a big gainer for us -- there's still some digging to do to find out what it means. But this filing for 1621 12th Ave is interesting because it involves the former home of Capitol Hill Arts Center and new home of Velocity Dance:

Land Use Application to allow the change of use of 16,000 sq. ft. of automotive sales and service to restaurant and performance arts assembly at ground level. Project also includes change of use of the below grade vacated parking area to light manufacturing.
Appears to be related to changing status of the building vs. filing for some kind of new construction but we'll make a phone call or two to see what's up.
The second project of note is being planned for the northern tip of Capitol Hill down at the edges of St. Mark's. It appears to involve subdividing the lot into room for five quaint little townhomes (townhouses?) and one larger structure -- probably apartments but could be retail. Goodbye Chiropractic Wellness Center. Touchdown!
