Police scanner: Cuff assault, creepy (or innocent?) conversation

An interjection before we get to the scanner notes -- The headlines don't say 'Capitol Hill' but you might want to pay this attention. The wave of violence that just swept across Seattle involves kids living right around the corner -- Seattle PI: Gang link seen in shootings:

Gabe Morales, a local gang expert and consultant to law enforcement, said the Hoovers are part of a group of South End gangs that have had a long-running feud with gangs in the Central District. He said the number of victims last weekend heightens concerns about reprisals.

"I think the police are on top of it, but unfortunately, as soon as the pressure backs off, I think the South End is going to start blasting around the CD," Morales said.

The connections between the Hill and the CD might seem little more than geography but there are more solid connections like the Hill kids who go to school at Garfield. These connections don't stop where one neighborhood ends and another begins -- these connections are carried here. We're wrapped up in this too.

4:57PM - Broadway & E. Union - Jaywalking - Officer out dealing with a "pedestrian violation"
whew, i'm so glad that spd is out after those dangerous jaywalkers. i was afraid after this weekend that every man hour was going to be spent solving/preventing violent crimes but it warms my heart to hear that pedestrian violations have such priority.

jaywalking
please... get of your high horse. What are they supposed to be doing about this. You cant just go around arresting every gang memeber. This isn't minority report either... Its not like they can go to the schools and round them up. Please inform me on what you think they should be doing since you are so wise.

I call BS on the idea that the police department is not to blame.
I witnessed a shooting downtown a few months ago. I called 911. I gave them descriptions of two people that fired weapons...one into the air...the other into a crowd of people. When the police arrived all they did was make their presence known. They never questioned me. I saw the guy who was the first to fire shots into the air walking around after the police left. This is hardly what i'd call a police department that is truly concerned or doing any hard investigating. They are to blame for their inaction at earlier incidents that have given these "gangs" the idea that the streets are theirs for the taking. Grow some freaking balls mayor, police chief, governor. Where are our leaders? Perhaps a pay cut would help them understand the plights of ordinary citizens living in their city and state.

bs on you
I call BS on you... You said you gave the descriptions to the 911 so the police already had that information. Now when they police were there did you approach them with your information? For some reason I dont think so. Was anyone shot? I really dont see how you solution of a pay cut would help at all.
