On a whim decided to stop by 25th & Union this morning to see if the Cortona had opened yet, and sure enough they had. (apparently Friday was their opening) The layout is a bit odd downstairs but the upstairs area is quite nice, with lots of little tables and a few bigger ones and lots of power outlets. It looked like they had WiFi but I didn't try it.
Most importantly I am happy to report that the coffee was excellent. Brian from Tougo helped with the training and coffee setup and it shows, I'd have a hard time telling the difference between the two. Great to see such yummy coffee a bit closer to home.
I'd also be remiss to say that I entered the establishment pro gay-marriage and somehow escaped the same way, without any attempts at conversion. :) Although there were many from Mars Hill in attendance supporting their friend's new business everybody was polite and friendly.
Happy to see them there, I'll be back and wish them the best of luck.
