About 700 E Mercer St - East Mercer Apartments:
5-story building, one block west of Broadway on Mercer. Mostly 1-bedroom units with approx a dozen 2-bedroom units (on either end and in the center of the building near the elevator). Wide south-facing common balcony, great for lounge chairs or gardening!

Secure building entry, laundry room on site, cats OK, some parking behind building (for a fee, and usually with a waiting list).

I lucked into a lease take-over here from a friend who was moving elsewhere. I have a 1BR on one of the upper floors, which has quite a large living room and bedroom -- my only complaint about the place is the tiny kitchen and bathroom (with crazy pink bathtub and wallpaper). However, I again got lucky and I'm moving into one of the few 2BR end units in July. A friend already lives in one of the others and they are nice!

The parking lot in back is unsecured and has a waiting list, but there are several other buildings in the area that rent spaces (check with Bruce at Camelot, across the street).

It's a quiet area (except for the old QFC construction site, but that's only during the day), close to Cornish, the DeLuxe, Brix Vivace, Harvard Exit, Joe Bar, newly-remodeled Rom Mai, Gold's Gym, QFC... you name it, it's probably within easy walking distance. Manager Gloria is awesome, quick to respond to questions or problems. She encourages word-of-mouth recommendations and posts when units are coming available so you can tell your friends.

Several residents here who have been with the building 5 or 10, or even longer, and people who came back to East Mercer after moving elsewhere. Doesn't that say something?
