Gay owned maker of soaps the old-fashioned way of combining fats (coconut, olive, palm, castor bean, macadamia nut...) with caustic potash (obtained from sea plants and other hardwood ashes) to create natural glycerin.

Speckprint is a small custom screen print shop located at 219 Broadway Easy. We print shirts, posters, and basically anything that can be laid flat. Yes that includes socks, though no ones asked me to yet. Be the first!

4 out of 5 blocks of North Broadway now have a pho restaurant (North of E Olive). So in case the other 3 don't hit the spot, you can try Pho Lotus Chinese & Vietnamese Restaurant.

Out of business as of October 2009

5-story building, one block west of Broadway on Mercer. Mostly 1-bedroom units with approx a dozen 2-bedroom units (on either end and in the center of the building near the elevator). Wide south-facing common balcony, great for lounge chairs or gardening!

Secure building entry, laundry room on site, cats OK, some parking behind building (for a fee, and usually with a waiting list).

4-story, brick building built in 1960's. 51 units - studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms available. Great views from the west facing apartments. Quiet building near Cornell and within short walking distance to the Broadway Market and downtown buslines. Secure parking garage, laundry room, elevator and large windows to let in the sunshine.
Resident managers are friendly, conscientious and approachable.
